Hungry by Saturday????

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a horrible blogger when it comes to consistancy.   (sadness)  I'm not sure,  should I be making excuses or should I just fess up and say I wasn't really sure what to talk about.  Life is good,  and God has blessed us again with a baby on the way,  and we are so excited.  Jayden is growing and learning new words everyday,  and obedience,  and all the things that come with being a one year old.  I love being his mommy.  But thats not really what I want to talk about today.

Everyone of you that reads this,  and has children,  especially young children,  knows that when we go to church,  we as moms,  don't always get much out of the message.  We're busy entertaining our children,  or training,  or you know whatever. (running to the bathroom!! LOL)   Some Sundays are really good,  when the child is in a good mood and has had their breakfast,  and a good night's sleep.  We go to church and we come out refreshed,  ready to take on the the next week.  Thats how I feel today.  But I know that feeling won't last.  Problems come up,  you deal with things during the week,  you get tired.  You don't take the time to spend time with God like you had such a great determination to do when you walked out of that last Sunday service.  (I'm mostly speaking to myself as I write this)   You say  "I'll quickly put the baby down for a nap,  and then I'll finish folding the laundry,  take out the garbage,  and wash the floor,  and then I'll have time for God."  Guess what?  The phone rings,  and you end up on the phone with your mom for almost an hour,  (not saying thats bad) or your husband comes home and needs your help with something that you've been hounding him to do for the last two weeks.  Worst case,  the BABY WAKES UP EARLY!!!!  These things happen to me and God gets put onto the back burner.  Sad isn't it??  We rely and trust on Him to give us strength to mother our children,  to be supportive and prayerful wives to our husbands,  to be ready to lend a hand when someone needs our help,  but we don't have the time to listen for his instruction on how to do these things!!!  CRAZINESS!!!   We're hungry by Saturday,  and so desperate for some nutrients.   Someone said in my adult Sunday School class that we need to take charge and responsibility of our own spiritual feedings,  and not rely on others to constantly be feeding us.  Seems like thats a valid point. We as moms need God's help on a daily basis to be patient,  to be loving,  to not become frustrated when the child touches the Christmas presents even though he knows very well not to.  My challenge to you and me,  is to take the time to spend some time with God on a daily basis.  Maybe 15 minutes is all you can do some days.  Thats ok.  Maybe the dishes don't all get done that day and some stay behind.  Thats ok too.

"Now it came to pass,  as they went,  that he (Jesus) entered into a certain village:  and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.  And she had a sister called Mary,  which also sat at Jesus' feet,  and heard his word.  But Martha was cumbered about much serving,  and came to him,  and said,  Lord,  dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?  bid her therefore that she help me.  And Jesus answered and said unto her,  Martha,  Martha,  thou art careful and troubled about many things:  But one thing is needful:  and Mary hath chosen the good part,  which shall not be taken away from her."  Luke 10:38-42

Spend some time with God today.  It is the good part,  which shall NOT be taken away.

Praise ye the Lord

"Praise ye the Lord.  Praise, O ye servantsof the Lord,  praise the name of the Lord.  Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for ever more.  From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.  The Lord is hight above all nations,  and his glory above the heavens.  Who is like unto the Lord our God,  who dwelleth on high,  Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven,  and in the earth." (Psalms 113:1-6)

Amazing Grace

I don't really have that much to say,  except that this week I have been so aware of the grace of God.  Some days I can't believe that He would even care about me after all the things that I have done in my life.  It really is AMAZING GRACE!!

Prayerful Wives

This topic has been on my heart for quite awhile,  and I know what I'm about to share has been shared before.  When God created man he looked around and saw that all the animals had partners,  but man was alone.  He was lonely,  there was something missing.  God saw this need and created woman (Genesis 1:20-24).  Out of MAN God created the woman,  and they were joined together in marriage.  I think this has a deeper meaning than what appears on the surface.  God could have created the woman out of the dust just as he did the man.  He could have made just another man to be a companion to the first man.  But no,  God created woman because there was a need only the woman could fulfill.  And this brings me to my point.  God created us women to be the missing piece in our husbands lives.  We are called to support them and help them be the leader in our home both physically and spiritually. We can do this is through prayer.  We send our husbands out in the morning Monday through Friday into the world to make a living.  They do their work and encounter a lot of people in one day.  They hear and see things that we as wives don't have to deal with.  I believe we as wives have a huge responsiblity to pray for our husbands for strength to stand strong in their faith as they face the world.  Its our duty,  our mandate as wives,  as their helpmeet.

I know that the things that I have shared have been said before.  I hope though,  that you can be encouraged and challenged to pray for your husband,  your marriage,  and your family.  The most important thing that makes up our society.  Pray hard.  The devil doesn't give up.

Blessings,  Andrea

Beauty all Around

I used to think that I had to go far away from home to see anything amazing,  or to experience God's handiwork. Cuz everything at home was,  everydayish,  boring.

But I've come to realize that everything around us is a beautiful creation.  God is everywhere,  and his creation is everywhere.

I have learned that I need to open my eyes and enjoy everything around me.  To experience His creation more fully.

I wanna encourage you today,  look around you and be amazed at what God has created for you to enjoy.

and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

10 Feet, 5 Inches

Today as we were on the way home from church I heard a song on the radio that talked about David and Goliath,  and how much faith David must have had to go into battle with Goliath.

Just imagine.....................

(1Samuel 17) "And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines,  named Goliath,  of Gath,  whose height was six cubits and a span.  (Cubit,  an ancient unit of lenth based on the lenth of the forearm,  this varies from 17" to 21". I figured this out to be around 10' 5")  And he had an helmet of brass upon hos head,  and he was armed with a coat of mail;  and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass."  "ANd when the Philistine looked about,  and saw David,  he disdained him: for he was but a youth,  and ruddy,  and of a fair countenance."

Think of it this was a GIANT!!!! David faced that giant with complete faith,  knowing that his God was bigger than Goliath.  Listen to what David has to say,  "You come to me with a sword,  and with a spear,  and with a shield:  but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts,  the God of the armies of Israel,  whom thou hast defied.  This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand."

Complete and unwavering faith!!!!!!!!

How do you and I face our giants?  Whatever it might be,  financial,  or a difficult decision,  or whatever.  God is still the God who delivered that giant to David and he will deliver you and me from whatever we are facing.

Taste and See!

Have you ever felt like you had no motivation,  to ambition about anything?  That's kinda how I had been feeling these last few days.  Just kinda blue.  I started praying about it,  and asking God to just give me a new drive,  and he answered my prayers!  "O taste and see that the Lord is good:  blessed is the man that trusts in Him." (Psalms 34:8) God is soo good and all I need to do is trust in Him! How cool is that?  I had joy again when I stopped thinking about me,  myself and I.  I just felt I needed to share,  and I hope that it can encourage someone else who has been feeling a little down.  "Praise ye the Lord.  Praise ye the name of the Lord;  praise HIm,  O ye servants of the Lord." (Psalms 135:1)
