10 Feet, 5 Inches

Today as we were on the way home from church I heard a song on the radio that talked about David and Goliath,  and how much faith David must have had to go into battle with Goliath.

Just imagine.....................

(1Samuel 17) "And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines,  named Goliath,  of Gath,  whose height was six cubits and a span.  (Cubit,  an ancient unit of lenth based on the lenth of the forearm,  this varies from 17" to 21". I figured this out to be around 10' 5")  And he had an helmet of brass upon hos head,  and he was armed with a coat of mail;  and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass."  "ANd when the Philistine looked about,  and saw David,  he disdained him: for he was but a youth,  and ruddy,  and of a fair countenance."

Think of it this was a GIANT!!!! David faced that giant with complete faith,  knowing that his God was bigger than Goliath.  Listen to what David has to say,  "You come to me with a sword,  and with a spear,  and with a shield:  but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts,  the God of the armies of Israel,  whom thou hast defied.  This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand."

Complete and unwavering faith!!!!!!!!

How do you and I face our giants?  Whatever it might be,  financial,  or a difficult decision,  or whatever.  God is still the God who delivered that giant to David and he will deliver you and me from whatever we are facing.

Mom would be proud!!!

When I was growing up my mom always started plants in the basement for the flower beds and the vegetable garden.  It was my least favorite thing to help with.  I actually did whatever I could to get out of it!!! Mom said then that someday I would start plants too,  and have my own garden.  I said never,  I will never start plants etc....

Well guess what?

SHE WAS RIGHT!!!!!!

That is one lesson that I have to learn over and over again,  LOL!
Mom is always right!!!!

Taste and See!

Have you ever felt like you had no motivation,  to ambition about anything?  That's kinda how I had been feeling these last few days.  Just kinda blue.  I started praying about it,  and asking God to just give me a new drive,  and he answered my prayers!  "O taste and see that the Lord is good:  blessed is the man that trusts in Him." (Psalms 34:8) God is soo good and all I need to do is trust in Him! How cool is that?  I had joy again when I stopped thinking about me,  myself and I.  I just felt I needed to share,  and I hope that it can encourage someone else who has been feeling a little down.  "Praise ye the Lord.  Praise ye the name of the Lord;  praise HIm,  O ye servants of the Lord." (Psalms 135:1)

Updates

Well,  in my last post I told you all that there would be another baby.  Unfortunately that doesn't hold true anymore.  We had a miscarriage only a few days after I posted last.  It has been hard to understand and to deal with,  but with God's help we are healing.  God is so good and I don't believe that He does things without purpose. I believe that our baby,  who we named Owen Thomas,  is not dead,  but ALIVE, in a new body with our Saviour.  It is kind of amazing to think that I have a child waiting for me up in heaven!

This last month we took a trip with my family to Minneapolis to the Jets vs. Wild game.  It was a great game and the Jets won in a shootout!  That was great,  we definately got our money`s worth out of that game!

We also went to the Mall of America!  It was fun,  but we couldn`t shop too much because the vehicle was soo full.  It was fun just to look at everything,  and there was a lot more than just shopping.   I did take pictures of some of the things that I wanted to buy though.  We went through the SeaLife Aquarium and played some games in the archade.  Was an awesome,  but tiring day.

We had a great time on our mini-vacation,  and learned that we like our space!  LOL!  It was a great experience and hopefully we can do it again next winter!

Exciting News

Even before Matthew and I were married I dreamed about having a family,  and having my own children.  Last winter when I was working in the daycare in Manitou I was surrounded by children and that made me long for my own even more.  We were so blessed by the birth of Jayden Matthew on August 2, 2011,  and continue to be blessed!  We are expecting another baby for August!  (eeeee,  so excited)  I am now 13 weeks along,  and feeling really well.  I have been quite tired,  but I think that I'm almost over that tiredness hump.

Some people have been asking if this pregnancy was planned or an accident.  And I always tell them we take it as it comes.  I believe that there are no accident pregnancies or accident children.  I believe that God has a special purpose for each life that he has created,  and that every life is beautiful.  So I guess that His plan was that Jayden have a sibling,  and that Matthew and I should have the responsibility of raising another child.  A pastor I know once told me that children were little angels from God,  and it was our job to make sure they got back to heaven where they came from.  I pray every night that I can be the mother that my children need and that they find Jesus as Saviour.  I am really enjoying the ups and downs,  the joys and frustrations of motherhood,  and am looking forward to meeting this new little one.
